My Father

Let us call my father Jack

Jack was born on a farm in Northern Ontario in the summer or 1936.  Not much is known about his childhood, other than he was free to do as he pleased; he loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He has one sister, who seems to have been the only one responsible for all household duties when they were children. My dad played my aunt slaved.  Back in the late 1930s, men were men and women were homemakers, breeders and caretakers.  In 1936, a film called Reefer Madness was released. If you have not seen it, it's worth a watch, while smoking a joint.  When you listen to Jack speak about Mary Jane, it becomes quite clear that he has memorized the entire movie.  This "documentary" became the foundation of his moral and political opinions. To this day, he believes Cannabis to be equivalent to a highly addictive opioid.  He is so close-minded that he won't even consider the benefits of a plant.

Jack left his hometown at the age of 18 to attend university in Southern Ontario.  His life goal was to eradicate the Big Bad Reefer from the streets of Northern Ontario by joining the RCMP and being a Narcotics Officer.  Unlike the American propaganda he believed, the RCMP did not need any Narcotics Agents.  They needed recruits to fight the Cold War.  Jack enlisted and was sent out West for basic Military training.

Listening to Jack, he was the best of the best in his field. AMAZING... he was the REAL LIFE JAMES BOND... but it had to remain a secret and not something to be discussed or spoken of. Ever.  The fact that he never stops talking about it to absolutely anyone who will listen is just my imagination.  Jack was not far off.  He definitely has a strong sense of grandeur.  He was truly gifted in many arts.  He had an affinity for learning languages, for being incredibly charming, and being able to blend well in many environments, as well as being manipulative. He was skilled at making one believe anything he told you.  Jack was a devout Catholic, and thought himself a good family man but I also believe him to be a narcissist.  He can be two people at the same time. He was dad and Jack to me at the same time. Dad who took care of me, but Jack who raised me like his C.I.
